18 Busted on Drug Charges

Pickens County Sheriff's Deputies have charged 19 people on various charges, including some drug charges.

Pickens County Deputies worked with deputies from Oconee County, as well as Clemson University and Clemson City police officers, according to a Pickens County Sheriff's Office release.

Charges include sale of marijuana, sale of a controlled substance and sale within proximity of a school or daycare, the release stated.

A total of 66 warrants were served on the nineteen arrested, eleven of which are Clemson students. Additional warrants are outstanding for four other subjects that have not been arrested at this time.

Seized during these arrests were $6,351 in cash, over 289 grams of high grade marijuana valued over $5000.00, one handgun that was reported stolen from Oconee County, 3 long guns, and various electronic equipment, including a professional grade ID card machine capable of placing a hologram on ID cards. This machine was used to make false identification cards.

These arrests are the result of a six months joint investigation by agents with Pickens and Oconee Sheriff’s Offices, Clemson University PD, Clemson City PD and SLED.
