Good morning, Easley! Today is Saturday, September 29 and there are 94 days left in the year.

 

The Easley Farmers Market opened at 9am today and will close at 1pm. The market will keep these new hours until the end of the season.

The market is holding its first chili cookoff today so head downtown to sample the contestants’ entries.

Bleu Voodoo Grill is celebrating its second anniversary and in honor of that, the restaurant is throwing a party. Bleu Voodoo Boogie 2 kicks off at 4pm today. The concert features the Tailgate Homeboys, the Shawn James Band and headliner Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks. The Boogie will benefit the Pickens County Cancer Society.

$5 gets you into the Voodoo’s block party.

Speaking of the Bleu Voodoo Grill, it’s hosting a benefit for MARYS House next month, and time is running out to get tickets.

The First Annual MARYS House Masquerade Dinner will be held 6-9pm on Monday, October 15 at Bleu Voodoo.

The meal includes a choice of chicken, steak or salmon, a house salad, baked potato and a choice of coffee, tea or water. Meal choice must be made at the time of ticket purchase.

There will also be a silent auction and doorprizes. Featured auction items include getaway opportunities including: a cruise on the Delta Queen, a getaway weekend at a lake house, and 1 night at a local bed and breakfast.

Tickets for the event are $35 per individual or $60 per couple.

The cutoff to buy tickets is September 30.

The SC Botanical Gardens at Clemson University will be holding its Fall Plant Sale today.

The sale is open to the public at no charge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
