Blue Ridge Electric Tree-Lighting Nov. 27

Annual ceremony welcomes in the Christmas season.

Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative will herald the Christmas season by lighting the large tree in front of the Pickens cooperative office.

The tree-lighting ceremony, an annual tradition that dates back to the early 1980's, will be held 5:15pm Tuesday, November 27.

“When the community comes together for the lighting of this beautiful tree, it truly starts the Christmas season,” said Liza Holder, Blue Ridge Electric Marketing Coordinator.

Entertainment will be provided by the A.R. Lewis Elementary choir, who will sing seasonal songs.

The Rev. James-McCoy Bruce, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, will offer a meditation.

School District Superintendent Dr. Kelly Pew will light the tree.

Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate following the tree-lighting.
