Charity Ride Provides Students With Shoes

This year marked the fifth year for the Annual Ride for M.A.C.
The name has a double meaning. It stands for both Mission Action Challenge, and it's a way to honor a man with a big heart.

Mac Lawton helps children both home and abroad. He is the founder of the 567 Club, which meets each Tuesday and provides male role models for area boys.

Proceeds from the annual Ride for M.A.C. are split, with half going to provide schools for area students.
Patrick Rivers, one of the organizers of the annual event, told Patch in an earlier interview that the effort has provided shoes to 700 children over the previous four years.
Proceeds are also given to Hope Unlimited, a children's mission organization in Brazil.
For the last two years, Easley First Baptist Church and 5 Point Fellowship have partnered on the Ride for M.A.C.
