Clemson University Cancels Class on Election Day
President Jim Barker said the university will not be closed, but he wants faculty staff and students to make voting a priority.

Clemson University has canceled classes scheduled for Election Day.
The university will not be closed Nov. 6, and it is not a state holiday for faculty and staff.
“Tuesday, Nov. 6, is an important day in our nation’s life. I urge every eligible voter at Clemson University — faculty, staff and students — to make voting a priority that day,” said Clemson President Jim Barker.
