Clemson University Holding Annual Turf School Feb. 19-22

One-day course led by CU turf grass scientists aims to help professionals overcome the technical challenges of managing grounds, lawns, recreational parks, athletic fields and sod production facilities.

Clemson University will hold its annual Turf School at locations throughout the state Feb. 19–22.

The Turf School is a one-day course designed and conducted by Clemson University turfgrass scientists to help professionals overcome the technical challenges of managing grounds, lawns, recreational parks, athletic fields and sod production facilities.

Pesticide Recertification credits will be awarded for South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.

Clemson’s Turf School will take place at the following locations:

  • Feb. 19 — Cypress Gardens Dean Hall Building, 3030 Cypress Gardens Road, Moncks Corner
  • Feb. 20 — The University Center at McAlister Square, 225 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville
  • Feb. 22 —  Clemson University Pee Dee Research and Education Center, 2200 Pocket Road, Florence

The program will focus on identifying and implementing the best management protocols for water quality, insect pests, diseases, fertilization and weeds.

Turf School participants also will learn about Clemson University turfgrass researchers’ scientific trials in the latest techniques to minimize economic costs and environmental impact of turf management while meeting federal and state regulatory guidelines.
