Coaches Set for South Carolina College All Star Bowl

Inaugural game slated for March 23 at North Greenville University.

The coaching staffs for the two teams playing in the inaugural South Carolina College All Star Bowl are now set.

Joining Upstate head coach Danny Ford will be Richard Moncrief, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks, Trey Lamb, offensive line/tight ends, David Bennett, wide receivers, Rodney Blount, running backs, Patrick Sapp, defensive coordinator/linebackers, Brian Dawkins and Mo Drayton, secondary, Nick Eason, defensive line, and C.J. Heinz, special teams.

The Lowcountry team is being led by Willie Jeffries. He is being assisted by Charlie Brown, offensive coordinator/wide receivers, Tim Shields and Jeff Hoffman, offensive line and tight ends, Woody Dantzler, quarterbacks, Joey Lewis and E.G. Green, wide receivers, Walt Gary, running backs, Freddie Brown, defensive coordinator/linebackers, Brian Pirone, linebackers, Duane Harper, secondary,  Marco Coleman and Charles Jones, defensive line, and Parker Richardson, special teams

The South Carolina College All Star Bowl pits a team representing the Lowcountry against a team from the Upstate.  Both teams consist of players from Palmetto State colleges and universities and/or athletes who played high school football  here, but went out-of-state to play college.

The Lowcountry team features players from the  University of South Carolina, University of Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Navy, Howard, Wyoming, University of Alabama-Birmingham, Coastal Carolina, The Citadel, Wingate University, South Carolina State, Brevard College, Furman University, Appalachian State, Calgary,  St. Augustine, Benedict, North Carolina Central, Carson Newman, Tennessee Tech, Shaw, Charleston Southern, Johnson C. Smith, West Chester, Kean, Winston-Salem State, Knox, Georgia State and  Western Carolina.

The Upstate team has players representing Clemson University, Virginia, Navy, Washington State, East Carolina, The University of Colorado, Brevard, Newberry College, Bowling Green, The Citadel, Presbyterian College, Wingate, North Greenville,  Tifflin, Bethune-Cookman, Davidson, Gardner-Webb, Furman, Rochester, Fort Valley State, Concord, Western Carolina, Winona State, Mars Hill, Tusculum, and Averett. The South Carolina College All Star Bowl will be played on March 23, 2013 at 3 p.m. at North Greenville University.
