Coastal photography contest announced

DHEC contest open to photographers of all ages

Do you have some beautiful shots taken on the South Carolina coast in a portfolio or family album? Planning to take some pictures on a trip to the coast this month? Your shot could be on a South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control poster next year.

Photographers of all ages and degrees of expertise are invited to get out their cameras and tripods to enter their best photographs of coastal South Carolina scenes in the annual photography contest sponsored by the state Department of Health and Environmental Control. The winning photo will appear on DHEC’s 2013 annual tide table poster.

Entries must be of a coastal South Carolina scene including marshes, beaches or wildlife and be appropriate as an image for the tide table. Horizontal orientation is required. Color photographs and digital photos are accepted with a limit of five pictures per contestant. Digital photos should not exceed a total combined file size of 4.0 MB. Printed photographs should not exceed 8.5” x 11”. All entries must be submitted between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30.
