Community-Wide Vigil Planned for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

A community-wide prayer vigil has been planned for Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Easley.
The vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at 5 Point Church, Highway 93, in Easley.

Other community vigils planned are:
- Thursday, October 4 at Pickens County Courthouse
- Thursday, October 18 at Sarlin Park in Liberty
- Thursday, October 25 at Clemson University.
- * All of these start at 7 p.m.
On Monday, agencies that provide services for domestic violence victims, members of the law enforcement community and lawmakers gathered to help bring awareness to the month and to ask for help from the community in breaking the cycle of domestic violence.

Mary's House, a local faith-based nonprofit organization providing emergency shelter services and piritual guidance to victims of domestic violence, will be present to provide domestic violence information.
