Couple Escapes Devastating Pickens County Fire
Family home and barn destroyed in early Thursday morning blaze. Couple loses everything.

Pickens Fire Department officials said a couple managed to escape their home before an early Thursday morning blaze destroyed it and a barn located on their property west of Pickens at 1712 Walhalla Highway.
According to a WYFF report, Reta and Billy Breazale said they built a fire in their wood stove that investigators currently believe may have started the blaze. Â
Firefighters battled the fire for more than two hours to bring it under control and required units from surrounding fire departments.
The property is the Brezeales' working family farm. The Brezeales didn't have insurance on the barn, and told the station everything they own was inside.
