Creighton E. Townsend

Mr. Creighton Eugene Townsend, 75, husband of Lola Mae Norris Townsend, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late John Clayton and Belvia McCall Townsend, Mr. Townsend retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith. 

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home, are his step-father, Robert Lee "Tab" Raines; three sons, Mitchell Eugene Townsend of Pickens, James Chistopher Townsend (Lealani) of Easley and Brian Keith Townsend of Pickens; two daughters, Sandra Townsend Espejo (Luis), and Clara Townsend Patterson (Charles), all of Pickens; two brothers, Fred Raines (Pat) of Pickens and Eddie Raines (Joyce) of Easley; one sister, Patsy Madden (Larry) of Pickens; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Townsend was predeceased by two brothers, one sister and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in the chapel of . Burial will follow in West View Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family is at the home, 200 Crescent Hill Road, Pickens, SC 29671.
