Daniel Smith Honored At EHS/Wren Game
Wren football team presents Green Wave with banner in memory of murdered EHS student.
During last night's football game, Easley High School students showed their love for a fallen teammate and classmate, and Wren players showed that rivalries can be forgotten in the face of tragedy.Â
As fans entered the stadium, they had the opportunity to donate to an effort raising money to pay for the funeral of EHS 9th grader Daniel Gabriel Smith and his mother Sandra Lee Michelle Smith Thomas, who were killed on August 30.Â
Inside the stadium, students, friends, family and the community remembered Daniel by wearing special T-shirts that displayed a domestic violence awareness ribbon on the front, and Daniel's number, 51, on the back.Â

As the Green Wave and the Golden Hurricanes began the game, EHS Athletic Director Chris Carter hung the banner so that all could see it.Â
