Deputies Investigating Rash of Small Trailer Thefts in Dacusville Area

Pickens County Sheriff's deputies are hoping the public can help them find the person or persons responsible for a rash of small utility trailer thefts in the Dacusville area.

At least five incidents have been reported to deputies. According to the incident reports, some of these items were not locked at the time of the theft. Deputies said these items should be secured and if possible, parked in locations where they are not visible.

The first incident was reported on April 14. A resident of 647 Shoals Creek Road, Easley, reported a Husky riding lawnmower was stolen out of his garage between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The resident said that he had left the door open to the garage and was inside his home at the time of the theft. The mower is valued at $1,000.

On April 16, Chuck's Mulch at 1846 Pumpkintown Highway, Pickens, reported a utiliity trailer was stolen from the business after 1 p.m. on April 14. The trailer is valued at $1,500.

As a resident of 701 McConnell Road, Marietta, was leaving for work on April 18, she noticed a utility trailer that had been chained to a building next to the home was missing. The trailer is valued at $500.

A utility trailer was reported stolen from the front yard of a home at 247 Meadow Brook Lane, Pickens, on April 19. The trailer was taken during the night and is valued at $300.

The last incident occurred on April 22. According to the report, a resident of 100 Ripplelake Drive, Easley, reported that between April 22 and April 26 someone had removed a utility trailer worth $850 from his property. The owner said a combination lock had been used to secure the latching mechanism on the trailer.
