Easley Magistrate Resigns

Resumes will be accepted through April 13

Long-time Easley magistrate Judge David Forrest Sr. has resigned his post.

The Greenville News reported on Monday afternoon that Forrest tendered his resignation last week.

Anyone resident who would like to be considered for the position should send a resume to: The Pickens County Legislative Delegation, P.O. Box 247, Pickens, SC 29671.

According to the S.C. Judicial Department, magistrates are appointed to four-year terms by the Governor, upon the advice of the Senate.

Magistrates have to pass a certification examination within a year of their appointment. There are currently 300 magistrate judges in the state.
