Emmy-Award Winning Journalist Speaks at Clemson Tomorrow
Mario R. de Carvalho will speak on "The Politics of Professional Communication/The Professional Communication of Politics."

Mario R. de Carvalho, a national Emmy-award winning news cameraman and video production expert, will speak at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in McKissick Theatre in the Hendrix Student Center at Clemson University.
De Carvalho will talk about "The Politics of Professional Communication/The Professional Communication of Politics.” He will speak on persuasion and visual communication and share stories of his coverage of this year’s presidential campaign. The event is free to the public.
De Carvalho was a staff cameraman for CBS news for 31 years, covering most of the world’s major events, including wars, riots, hurricanes, presidential campaigns, dictators, papal trips, the Winter Olympics and royal weddings. His work took him to 64 countries, and he was based in four foreign bureaus.

De Carvalho is married to Jane Robelot, a Clemson alumna and nationally known TV news correspondent and anchor. In 2007, the couple relocated to Greenville, S.C. to start CarolinaZoom TV Productions, a television production and consulting firm. De Carvalho and Robelot continue to work for the television networks.
De Carvalho’s lecture is sponsored by the Pearce Center for Professional Communication and the English Majors Organization at Clemson.
