Southern Wesleyan University will join the rest of the nation in commemorating the tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with a musical program titled “Gifts Of Grace: Heroes of 9/11” Thursday, Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the campus in Central.
From the passengers on United flight 93 to the legions of first responders, America was introduced to thousands of new heroes: men and women who put their country and other people above their own lives.
“Gifts of Grace” salutes these brave Americans who gave their lives on that tragic day by revisiting the hills of Pennsylvania, the streets of New York City and the landmarks of the nation’s capital through music and narration. The program will also feature local representatives of the police, firefighters, paramedics and physicians, who will be recognized for their ongoing service to the community.
