The Pickens County Library System is partnering with United Way and Americorps to provide FREE Money Smart Classes, taught by a trained Americorps member at the . The Money Smart curriculum, developed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), strives to help individuals enhance their financial skills and create positive banking relationships. Topics will include: bank services, consumer rights, credit, loans, savings, home ownership, and financial recovery. There will be one course geared specifically for teens (17 and under), and another course for adults (18 and up).
The adult series will be held on Tuesdays at 7pm, beginning May 15 and running through June 19. All classes are at the Hampton Memorial Library in Easley and are free and open to the public. For more information or to register, please call 850-7077 x 112 or email: 2012americorps@gmail.com.
