Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein Double Feature Plays Today

Halloween is almost here and a great way to get into the spooky spirit would be to catch a couple of chillers on the big screen.

NCM Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Universal Studios have been celecbrating Universal Studio's 100th Anniversary this year by bringing several classics back to theaters.

Tomorrow, a special double feature will be shown at two Upstate theaters.

"Frankenstein" and "Bride of Frankenstein" will be shown tomorrow at 2pm and 7pm at Great Escape in Simpsonville and at 7pm at Hollywood 20 in Greenville. 

They're playing for just one day - so don't miss your chance to see a couple of classic Hollywood horror pictures on the silver screen.

“Frankenstein” features Boris Karloff (though originally Bela Lugosi, Universal's Dracula, was cast in the role) in a soulful, star-making performance as the misunderstood monster.

Karloff's wonderful performance, combined with Jack Pierce's award-winning make up for the creature, makes a monster that's hard to forget even today, 81 years after the movie was first released.

The list of sequels that are better than the originals is a short one indeed, but critics often agree that “Bride of Frankenstein” tops it's predecessor – which is very good in its own right.
