Free Training Aims At Protecting Children
The Children's Service Council of Pickens County will hold a free "Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect" training Tuesday, January 8.

The recent arrest of a registered sex offender who allegedly beat and raped a 4 year old girl has horrified the community.
Gloria Morris, Executive Director of The Parenting Place, the home of Prevent Child Abuse Pickens County, says "we all need to do so much better in the overall safety and protection of our children."
"Predators like this need to be put away forever so they can never harm another child," Morris said. "Every parent needs to know where the pedophiles in this county live and work so that can be more vigilant with their children. I know I have heard these stories many many times but I have just about had it with hearing about another child’s being abused so violently. The abuse has to stop."
