Girls ROCK Completes Fitness, Character Program
Area girls participating in Girls ROCK program take part in Run for Lilly fundraiser.

Girls ROCK (Running On Character & Kindness) recently completed a two-month fitness and character-building program for Pickens County elementary and middle school girls by running and walking in the Run for Lilly held at Acadia Community. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
The girls’ running group met once a week for eight weeks at the Baptist Easley Hospital walking park during August, September and October. Each meeting started with a character-building lesson on topics such as body image, nutrition, fitness and anti-bullying.
The girls then ran and walked distances up to 2 miles in preparation for the Run for Lilly 5K, a fund-raiser for 4-year-old Lilly Clark, who is being treated for brain cancer. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
