Hearing Postponed For Mother Accused of Killing Her Daughter

A mother charged with homicide by child abuse was due in court today, but the hearing has been moved to a later date. 

WYFF 4 reports that the hearing for Rina Edith Padilla Mencia has been postponed. 

The 14-month old child was killed in August 2012. Deputies say Mencia was leaving her home and had not made arrangements for someone to look after her daughter while she was gone. 

Yoely Padillo made her way onto Saluda Dam Road and was struck by her mother's vehicle, investigators said. 

The girl died at the scene.
