Highway Patrol still investigating Friday morning accident

An Easley woman died after her vehicle struck her this morning.Â
The vehicle vs. pedestrian accident occured at 7:00 am. Friday near the intersection of Fernwood Drive and W. Roper Road.Â

Jessica Hoepelman-Garcia, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley said.Â
The accident occured after Hoepelman-Garcia brought her 2006 Mercury SUV to a stop.Â

She was behind the vehicle when it rolled back and struck her, Trooper Billy Elder with the SC Highway Patrol said.Â
Hoepelman-Garcia was found at the scene, Elder said.Â
The Highway Patrol and its Multiple Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team are still investigating the accident.Â

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in an Easley neighborhood Friday morning.
According to the Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of Fernwood Drive and W. Roper Road.
At least one person is dead.
