
A fire at a home on Jackson Street in Easley has been ruled accidental.Â
Captain Barry Bridges with the Easley Fire Department said firefighters responded to a structure fire at 115 Jackson Street at 5:30pm Monday.Â
The first unit on the scene reported smoking coming from the front of the home.Â

Two engine companies responded to the fire, Bridges said.Â
Firefighters brought the fire under control within 15 minutes, Bridges said.Â

Crews remained on scene for an additionl hour conducting salvage and overhaul operations.Â
The fire was contained to the living room, but the home sustained heavy smoke damage, Bridges said.Â
Bridges said the home had no working smoke detectors.
The residents were not at home when the fire started, he said. Easley Police and Easley Combined Utilities also responded to the fire.Â
