Letter: Who Does B.R. Skelton Want to Work For?

Letter's author says Skelton should think more about his constituents than himself.

I just got through reading Pickens County Taxpayers Association's Winter 2012 Newsletter in which  BR Skelton submitted a statement telling  PCTA members and citizens in District 3 why he deserves to be elected.

After reading his statement, it is very informative that BR Skelton used the word "I" thirteen times.

It is important to note that someone who uses the word "I" that many times is NOT leaving any room for thinking about "me."

Representatives are supposed to be thinking about their constituents more than themselves.  BR Skelton's last sentence in his submitted statement about why we should vote for him is also VERY telling.

Here's his last sentence..."I vote for what I think is best for this district and the state."

Shouldn't he be saying..."I vote based on what my constituents think is best for this district and the state?"

If you are in District 3 please come to the Candidate meeting for State House Candidates Ed Harris and B.R. Skelton on Thursday, October 18 at 7:00pm being held at the Six Mile Town Hall so you can clearly see for yourself it is time for BR Skelton to step down and do what he does best...think about himself and let Ed Harris have his turn in representing WE THE PEOPLE.
