Liberty Middle Raising Funds for St Baldrick’s Childrens Cancer Foundation

Fundraising campaign ends Friday at the St. Patrick's Day Dance.

For the past several weeks, Liberty Middle School has been raising funds to benefit the St Baldrick’s Childrens Cancer Foundation.

LMS Principal Donivan Edwards said the first fundraising event was a Chess Tournament for grade six and seven.. Seven seventh graders and eleven sixth grades participated.

β€œAfter four days of intense playing the final matches came down to Logan Barrow and Chris Williamson in grade seven and Isaac Cook and Alex Johnson in grade six,” Edwards said. β€œThe finals were held on March 7 and our winners were Chris Williamson and Isaac Cook.”

With just a few days to go in the school's fundraising campaign, Edwards said the school has already exceeded it's $1,000 goal.

"As of today the total exceeds $4,400!," Edwards said.Β

If you would like to donate to this drive you may do so at www.stbaldricks.org/events/lmsfalcons.

You may also bring donations by Liberty Middle School at 125 Falcon Lane, Liberty.

The culminating event for this drive will be this Friday, March 15th, at the St Patrick’s Day Dance in which more than thirty students, teachers, and administrators will have their heads shaved as a part of this fund drive.

"We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this most successful event and invite you to join us tomorrow afternoon as we shave our heads as a symbol of our support for children with cancer," Edwards said.
