All proceeds from the sale go to the Pickens County Literacy Association, helps non-readers and low readers develop their reading and writing skills.

The Pickens County Literacy Association does not charge any of its reading and writing students, but the materials needed to teach them are expensive, which is why the book sales, held twice a year, are so important to the association.
