Local Christmas Parades Kick Off this Weekend

Easley, Central and Six Mile will hold their parades tomorrow.

Several municipalities in Pickens County will be kicking off the Christmas season this weekend.

Easley holds its Grand Illumination Ceremony tonight, beginning at 5:30pm in downtown Easley. The event will lead up to the lighting of the city's Christmas tree at 7pm.

Easley's Christmas Parade will be held tomorrow morning, beginning at 10am.

Parade floats will line up in the Easley First Baptist parking lot. From there, the parade will go up Bradley Avenue to Main Street, turning left on Main all the way through town to a left on South 1st Street, and then West on 1St Avenue and end on Pendleton Street.

Dr. Hubert Bowick is the Grand Marshal this year for the Easley Christmas Parade.

There are nearly 50 entries in this year's parade. Keep an eye out for Santa!

Central will celebrate hold its Christmas Parade Saturday, December 1. beginning at 1pm. The parade will travel down Main Street. A Living Christmas Tree concert will be held 6pm – 8pm Dec. 1-2 in downtown Central.

Six Mile's Christmas Parade will also be held on Dec. 1, at 10:30am.

Pickens will celebrate its Tree-lighting Ceremony at Legacy Square 6pm, Saturday, December 1. Th event will feature a prize barrel, Christmas caroling, the winners of recent design contests and more.

Other Pickens Christmas events the first week of December include a Piano concert by Helen Batson and Ladell Crenshaw at 3pm and 6pm Sunday, Dec. 2 at Pickens First Baptist Church.

“A Band of Shepherds,” a youth musicial will be performed 6pm, Sunday Dec. 2 at Pickens View Wesleyan Church.

Grace Methodist Church's Handbell Choir will perform a concert 6pm December 7 at Cafe Connections on Main Street in Pickens.
