Local Man Completes Boston Marathon

Runners from all over the world converged on Boston this weekend to take part in the 116th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday, including one local man.

Allan Fortner, 45, of Easley, completed the race with a time of 4 hours, 39 minutes, 7 seconds, according to race results posted on the marathon's website.

Wesley Korir of Kenya crossed the finish line first with a time of 2:12:40, according to a Huffington Post article.

Sharon Cherop of Kenya won the women's race finishing in 2:31:50.
