Local Students Selected For Region Orchestra

Students from Powdersville High School, Wren High School and Palmetto High School named to orchestra.

On Saturday, October 6, students auditioned at League Academy for an opportunity to represent their school in the Upstate West Region Orchestra.

The Upstate West Region orchestra is comprised of middle and high school orchestra students in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee and Pickens County that audition and are selected as the best in their region.

Anderson School District One had a total of 18 students selected and 17 students participated in region weekend at Pickens High School on November 9th and 10th.

The following students were selected from Palmetto High School-Clint Davis, Jessica Hart and Mary-Cate Rogers; Powdersville High School-Devyn Keen, Maria Petromichelis, Emma Shirley, Mary Beth Stephens and Lee Street; Wren Middle School- Camdyn Bruce, Skyler Lorey and Racheal Owens; Wren High school- Hayden Campbell, Clay Caudell, Aubrey Gill, Moriah Journell, Serena Khaleghi, Micheal Lewis, Colin Pate and Jada Tate. Jay-Martin Pinner conducted the 6th -9th grade orchestra and Michael Weaver conducted the 10th-12th grade orchestra.

Mr. Pinner is the founder of the Bob Jones Academy and Junior High Orchestra.

Dr. Weaver is the director of orchestral activities and the string program coordinator at North Greenville University’s Cline School of Music.
