Locals Take Third at National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic National Finals

Will Jones of Easley, and Kip Merck, both of Easley, and Gene Dupre of Columbia
took their team to a third-place finish in a national competition held at the famed Pebble Beach golf course over the weekend.
Dupre, Jones and Merck, along with Mark Sobolewski of Fernandina Beach FL, comprised the Columbia-based foursome who shot scores of 62-61-63 for a three day, 186 total at the National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic National Finals. They missed first place by two shots in the 54-hole, scramble style tournament.
The foursome qualified for the Pebble Beach finals by finishing in the top 3 of the Spring Valley Country Club NKF Cadillac Golf Classic held last year. They faced off against 50 other amateur golf teams from across the country over the weekend. Â Teams played the fabled fairways and signature holes of the Monterey Peninsula: Pebble Beach Golf Links, Del Monte Golf Course and The Links at Spanish Bay in the four-person scramble format event.
Funds raised through the tournament help support National Kidney
