UPDATE: Location of Funeral for Murdered Mother and Son Has Changed

Due to the large number of people expected to attend, the location of the funerals for the mother and son killed on Thursday has changed. 

Simpsonville business owner Sandra Lee Michelle Smith Thomas, 42, and her son Daniel Gabriel Smith, a 9th grader at Easley High School, were killed Thursday evening by her husband William D. Thomas, who then turned the gun on himself. 

The funeral will now be held at Marathon Church, located at 315 Roe Road in Powdersville instead of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens. 

The services begin at 2pm today. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens in Pickens.
