Meals On Wheels Receives Walmart Foundation Grant

Grant from Walmart's Local Store Giving Program will help Pickens County Meals on Wheels for its home meal delivery program.

Pickens County Meals on Wheels received a $1,000 contribution to assist with providing meals for homebound seniors in the Easley area.

The grant – made possible by the Wal-Mart Foundation’s Local Store Giving Program – will help purchase meals in support of the Meals on Wheels’ home meal delivery program.

The Meals on Wheels program provides a nutritious noon time meal Monday thru Friday to over 230 homebound, elderly and disabled recipients in Pickens County.  “Every contribution counts, this contribution from the Walmart Foundation couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Meta Bowers, Executive Director of Pickens County Meals on Wheels.  “We would like to recognize Mr. Lee Jolie, Store Manager of Walmart in Easley for his role in securing this community grant. We are extremely grateful to receive this assistance as we continue to serve our community’s homebound, elderly and disabled seniors.”
