Melvin William Carter, 80, 314 Tuner Hill Road, husband of the late Dorothy Wynn Carter, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born Nov. 16, 1931 in Darlington, County, he was a son of the late Edward and Hattie Jane O'Neal Carter. Mr. Carter retired from Saco Lowell with more than 40 years of service and was a member of Powdersville First Baptist Church.
Mr. Carter is survived by his son, Danny Carter (Rhonda) of Easley; daughter, Julia Carter Stephens of Union; grandsons, Matthew Carter (Rebekah) and Justin Carter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Rev. Brad Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
