Need to do Some Last-Minute Grocery Shopping on Thanksgiving Day?

We've got the scoop on what stores are open

It's Thanksgiving morning and you've just realized you've forgotten the cheddar for that all-important macaroni and cheese. Or maybe you forgot the dinner rolls and Grandpa Joe just can't eat without some sort of bread.

I'm sure by the time you arrive at the store you will have remember a couple of other things you didn't think about: toilet paper, ice, napkins, cups, paper plates, that extra can of Cranberry sauce and don't forget the Ziploc bags and tinfoil to wrap up all those yummy leftovers.

But who is open?

Here are a few stores where you can pick up those last-minute items on Thanksgiving:

  • Bi-Lo stores will close at 7 p.m.
  • Dollar General stores will be open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Family Dollar stores will be open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Food Lion stores will close at 3 p.m.
  • Ingles stores will be open, regular store hours, from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Pharmacies will be closed.
  • Walgreens stores will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., except for their 24-hours store, which will keep regular hours.
  • Walmart stores will be open normal business hours, but check your area store before you head out.
  • Whole Foods will be open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

These stores will be closed: Aldi, Earth Fare, The Fresh Market, Publix and Trader Joe's.
