Nell Smith Hamilton

Mrs. Mary "Nell" Smith Hamilton, 95, wife of the late Norman L. Hamilton, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Benjamin T. and Minnie Kay Smith, Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Easley, where she belonged to the Fidelis Sunday School Class.

Surviving are two daughters, Lynn Shutze (Michael W.) of Athens, GA and Elizabeth Plexico (John E.) of North Augusta; four grandchildren, Andrea Alexander, Alina Brooks, Angela Owen and John Norman Plexico; and three great-grandchildren, Haley Brooks, Hunter Brooks and Devin Plexico Owen.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hamilton was predeceased by two brothers, Hal and B.T. Smith; and four sisters, Helen Dover, Emily Davis, Sybil Sloan and Evelyn McCall.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Easley with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Escort of Honor will be the Fedelis Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends in the Narthex of First Baptist Church Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
