New Principal Announced for Clemson Elementary School

Michelle D. Craddock will take over when principal Dr. Ken Weichel retires at the end of the year,

The School District of Pickens County is happy to announce Michelle D. Craddock as Clemson Elementary School’s principal beginning in the 2013-2014 school year.

She will succeed Dr. Ken Weichel, who plans to retire at the end of this school year.

“Mrs. Craddock is committed to students,” said SDPC superintendent Dr. Kelly Pew. “She is an instructional leader who can transition the school to the new state standards, and she has demonstrated her leadership as principal at Keowee Elementary. We look forward to working with her.”

Mrs. Craddock comes to Clemson from Keowee Elementary School in Seneca, where she served as principal since 2006. Prior to working in Oconee County, she was an assistant principal at K.E Taylor Elementary School and Pharr Elementary School in the Atlanta metro area. She also served as the program director of the Georgia High School Graduation Test Summer Program at Phoenix High School from 1998-2006. She began her career in education as a French teacher at Duluth High School in Duluth, Georgia in 1996.

Mrs. Craddock has earned her B.A in French from Presbyterian College, a Master of Education degree from the University of Georgia, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, also from the University of Georgia.

She and her family reside in Clemson.
