No Injuries Reported in 2 Sunday Fires
Easley firefighters respond to fires at Lenhardt Road and Oates Avenue Sunday afternoon.

Easley firefighters responded to a brush fire at 941 Lenhardt Road Sunday afternoon.
Capt. J.D. Willis said firefighters received the call at 12:13pm Sunday. The first arriving unit reported a fast spreading grass/woods fire, Willis said.
Additional units responded to the scene. SC Forestry was notified and responded to the scene as well, Willis said.

Within 30 minutes, firefighters had the fire contained to a 2-acre area, Willis said.
He said additional time was spent checking the fire area for “hot spots.”

The homeowner was burning trash and other items in the area where the fire originated, Willis said.
SC Forestry issued a citation to the owner, Willis said.
Easley firefighters also responded to a structure fire at 209 Oates Avenue Sunday afternoon.
Willis said the call came in at 3:19pm.
That fire was contained to a wall around a chimney, but a wall had to be taken down so firefighters could gain access to the fire, Willis said.
After the fire was extinguished, firefighters remained on the scene performing salvage and overhaul.
Two EFD pumper trucks responded to the scene.
The Easley Police Department also responded to the scene and assisted with traffic, Willis said.
No other agencies were notified, he said.
No injuries were reported in either incident, Willis said.
