No Injuries Reported in Brushy Creek Road Fire

Cause of early morning fire still under investigation.

No firefighters or civilians were injured as a result of a structure fire early this morning.

Easley Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Brushy Creek Road early Wednesday morning.

According to Captain J.D. Willis, the call came in at 3:20am Wednesday morning.

When firefighters responded to the home at 201 Brushy Creek Road, fire and smoke could be seen from a garage behind the home, Willis said.

Firefighters had the blaze under control within 15 minutes of arrival, Willis said.

Additional time was spent on salvage and overhaul operations, he said.

The garage had been converted to living quarters, but did not contain working smoke detectors, Willis said.

American Red Cross assistance was offered, but was not needed by household members, Willis said.

Two pumper trucks and a service unit responded to the scene.

Easley Combined Utilities responded to the scene to turn off power to the structure.

Easley Police also responded and assisted with traffic control, Willis said.

The city's building official has been notified of the incident, Willis said.

The fire's cause is still under investigation.
