Easley firefighters respond to structure fire on Robert P. Jeanes Road Monday afternoon

No one was hurt in a fire on Robert P. Jeanes Road Monday afternoon.
Easley firefighters responded to a structure fire at 153 Robert P. Jeanes Road at 3:03pm Monday, according to Captain J.D. Willis.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the residence was heavily involved with fire, Willis said.

The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes and firefighters spent additional time involved in salvage and overhaul operations, he said.
Two pumpers and a service unit responded to the fire.

The Easley Police Department and the Pickens County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene to assist with traffic control, Willis said.
Pickens County EMS and Rescue 8 also assisted, he said.
Easley Combined Utilities came to the scene to cut the power to the residence.
The residence had no smoke detectors, Willis said.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist the tenant.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Willis said.
