Obituary: Clarence Whitmire of Easley

Clarence Eugene Whitmire, 73, husband to Lora Knighton Whitmire for 53 years, passed away March 5, 2013.

Mr. Whitmire was born March 30, 1939 in Fountain Inn, SC to the late John William Whitmire and Ruby Ritchey Whitmire. He retired from Mount Vernon Mills Dryer Felt and was co-owner of C&M Automotives. He was a HEJAZ Shriner, and a member of the Brandon Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Mike Whitmire and wife Teresa, and Donnie Whitmire and wife Jennifer; two brothers, Carl and Robert Whitmire; five grandchildren, Jeannie Cantrell, Ashley Whitmire, Craig Whitmire, Shane Whitmire, and Jessica Whitmire; four great- grandchildren, Brooklyn Cantrell, Bryson Cantrell, Colton Whitmire, and Nathan Whitmire.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, James, and Dennis Whitmire; and grandson, PFC Justin Whitmire.

Memorial Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Faith Renewed Outreach Center officiated by Pastor Terry Rogers and Pastor Julian Galloway. Family will receive friends from 1- 2:30 p.m. at the church.
