Obituary: Michael Reid of Pickens

Michael Douglas Reid passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 26th, 2013. Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late Harold Sanders Reid and Merledene Reid Laird. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann Simpson Reid. 

He was self employed in the building industry, and attended Freedom Biker Church in Pickens. He was a volunteer in several community projects such as Mary's House and the Knight House in Pickens.

He is survived by a son, Michael Dylan Reid, and a daughter, Megan Alexis Reid, both of the home. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold Daniel Reid and Gary Dwayne Reid, both of Easley, three sisters, Debbie Bortner of Virginia, Denise Woods of Six Mile, and Donna Collins of Easley, an aunt and uncle, Bill and Annette Rankin of Pelzer, and six nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, April 1st, at Freedom Biker Church in Pickens.
