Obituary: William Middleton Rich Sr. of Easley

William Middleton Rich, Sr., age 82, husband of Myrtice Burton Rich, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

Born in McCormick County, he was a son of the late Lewis Collins and Isabelle McBride Rich. Mr. Rich was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran and was retired from the SC Highway Department. He was a wonderful husband and father and a good friend.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Mr. Rich is survived by two daughters, Mary Rich McBride and Carolyn Rich Pittman and husband Robby; a son, William Middleton "Will" Rich, Jr. and wife Donna; seven grandchildren, Jaime Kitchens, Katie Kitchens, Justin Pittman, Auston Rich, Aaron Rich, Micah Taylor, and Leslie Taylor; a great granddaughter, Lily Grace Hitte; and a sister, Isabelle Boozer. He was predeceased by a daughter, Theresé Anne Carver; and a sister, Louise Barnwell.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM at West Gantt First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Marshall Fagg and Dr. Danny Burnley. A committal service will be held at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens at 3:30 PM. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
