Although Dr. Hunt will begin a new journey in his life, he leaves behind a legacy of courage, wisdom, and care for employees. Most importantly, however, he leaves a legacy of support and excellence for the children of the School District of Pickens County.
While Dr. Hunt may be aware of some of the lives he has touched, there are many more that have been positively impacted by being a student in his classroom, his school, or in the district. As teachers, we never really know the influence we have had on others.

I have tremendous respect for Dr. Henry Hunt; he’s a positive, unassuming man of high principles, a quiet leader who led us and made us feel some comfort during some of the most challenging years we’ve ever experienced.
Dr. Hunt has provided stability in our district for many, years — 42 to be exact. He’s worked together with employees, parents, the board, and community members to make sure that the students of Pickens County have the best education possible. His decisions have always been made with the best interest of students as priority.
I hope that Dr. Hunt enjoys many years of retirement. I know that he will enjoy spending time with his family — especially his two grandsons. He will have many opportunities to have quiet mornings on the lake fishing and afternoons reading his favorite book. I wish him much happiness as he will have the opportunity to do the things he loves to do!
I appreciate all that Dr. Hunt has done for me professionally. I have learned so much from him and treasure the time that we have spent together in the School District of Pickens County. I certainly have big shoes to fill as I begin as superintendent of the School District of Pickens County. I wish Dr. Hunt and his family the very best!
