Palmetto Elementary 5th Graders Competing in District Jet Toy Competition
Competition brings lessons on force and motion to life.

The 5th graders at Palmetto Elementary studied force and motion and the design process in science class throughout November and December.Â
They followed the steps of identifying a problem, designing a solution, implementing a design and evaluating the solution.Â
During this unit, students worked in cooperative groups and constructed Jet Toys, which are vehicles powered by balloons.Â
