Pancake Breakfast Benefits Young Appalachian Musicians
Breakfast will be held Saturday, November 10.

An upcoming event will give participants a great breakfast, a chance to hear great music while lending support to a great local program.
The Gatehouse Restaurant in Pickens is hosting a pancake breakfast to benefit the Young Appalachian Musicians program.
The breakfast is slated for 9am – 11am Saturday, November 10, and will include pancakes, eggs, bacon, grits and a drink.

Sweet Potato Pie, comprised of members of the Young Appalachian Musicians will provide entertainment during the breakfast.
Tickets are $6 and can be purchased from any Young Appalachian Musicians member, at the Oolenoy Friday Night Jam, or at The Gatehouse Restaurant in advance or at the door.

The Gatehouse is located at 116 Ann Street in Pickens.
Profits will benefit the YAM program, which pairs experience musicians with students eager to learn the music of the mountains.
Betty McDaniel began the program at Holly Springs Elementary School in 2008.
Since then, the program has expanded and is now housed at six elementary schools and one middle school in Pickens County.
There are more than 300 students participating in the YAM program.
YAM also offers evening bluegrass tutoring for 3rd graders through adults at a variety of locations in the Upstate.
