Pickens' Businesses Band Together for Third Fridays

Grassroots effort aims to bring more shoppers and diners to Pickens. Event will be held the Third Friday of every month. See story for map of participating businesses.

Pickens business owners want more people to discover all Pickens has to offer, and many of them have banded together for a special monthly event.

According to Pickens City Administrator Katherine Brackett, business owners have joined forces to create an event called “Third Fridays”, much like Greenville’s “First Fridays”.

"Pickens has many gift shops, art galleries, and restaurants that have stepped up to participate," Brackett said.

The first Third Friday kicks off tonight at 6pm and will run until 9pm.

She said while the Third Friday events are not an “official” city event or under the umbrella of the Main Street Program Pickens Revitalization Association, Pickens officials are still in great support of it and excited to see this.
