Pickens Christmas Parade is December 15
Pickens planning a month-long Christmas celebration
Plans for “A Pickens Christmas,” a month-long holiday celebration, are moving forward nicely, according to Pickens Revitalization Association Executive Director Kristen Henry.
“Everything is pretty much set,” she said. “There's no shortage of things to do in the City of Pickens in December.”
There are lots of ways to get involved, Henry said.

“There's a merchants decorating contest, there's a student art contest, there's an ornament contest,” Henry said.
Pickens will light its Christmas tree at Legacy Square on Saturday, December 1. The celebration will include Christmas caroling, youth Christmas art, the winners of the merchant decorating and ornament design contests and a Snow Ball Barrel, which offers chances for everyone to win prizes and surprises from Pickens Merchants.

“Santa is confirmed,” City Administrator Katherine Brackett said.
Pickens will hold its Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 15. Christmas caroling begins at 5pm that day, with the parade starting at 6pm on Main Street. Hot drinks and cookies will be available at Pickens Presbyterian Church, which will also host the Parade Awards Ceremony.
“A few of our downtown merchants will have live window displays during our Christmas Parade,” Henry said.
