Pickens County 4-H to Hold 5K Mud Run
Race slated for April 13 at the B.J. Skelton Career Center and will include Youth Fun Run 1K.

Want to have some dirty fun? The Pickens County 4-H program will be hosting a 5K Mud Run in the spring.
The event is slated for April 13 at the B.J. Skelton Career Center.
Registrations are $25 if paid by March 1.

From Saturday, March 2 to Monday, April 8, registrations will be $35.
If you forget to pay, don't worry, you can pay $50 the day of the run to take part.

The race categories are 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and over, for both males and females.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three winners in each category.
Water will provided along the course and snacks will be available at the finish line.
The event will also include a Youth Fun-Run on a 1k course, complete with mini-obstacles. The Youth run is open to runners age 12 and under. Entry fee is $10 and all who take part will receive a 4-H water bottle and a certificate of completion.

The race will be held rain or shine.
Volunteers are needed to help assist with the race. 4-H is a 501 c3 so a donation of your time can count toward school or work service hours. All volunteers will get a T-shirt as a thank you gift. If you're interested in helping out, email Janine Sutter at jsutter@clemson.edu. Please include your name, age and the times you are available as well as any previous race experience you have. Previous race experience is not required of volunteers.
Donations and sponsorships are also needed. You can sponsor an obstacle, a snack table, the water, etc.
There are several tiers of sponsorship available.
For $100, your name or business will be printed in the race brochure.
For $250, you'll also receive two spots in the race, as well as being printed in the brochure.
At the $500 level, you'll receive a spot in the brochure, four spots in the race and a mention in the media write-up.
At the $1,000 level, you'll receive brochure mention, mention in the media write-up, 8 spots in the race and an appreciation plaque.
