Pickens County Cancer Association Collecting Donations for Yard Sale
Yard Sale is Oct. 27 and organizers hope to raise $5,000 for PCCA.

The Pickens County Cancer Association is collecting donations for a yard sale that will be held later this month.
Margaret Smith, who is overseeing the yard sale, says the association is accepting all kinds of donations – and can even come to you.
“They can call my cell at 609-7802,” Smith said. “I'll be more than glad to pick donations up or I can meet them here at the Association's office. The only time I wouldn't be able to meet people is when I'm in church.”

The yard sale is set for Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Pickens County Cancer Association office, located at 444-B Hampton Avenue in Pickens.
The yard sale officially kicks off at 8am, but Smith said she and other PCCA volunteers would be there “early in the morning.”

The sale is set to end at 2pm, but Smith said it could go longer.
“If I need to be, I'll stay a lot longer because I want to raise a lot of money for the cancer center,” Smith said.
She hopes to raise $5,000 for the PCCA.
“It'll all go right here to the Pickens County Cancer Association,” Smith said.
The Pickens County Cancer Association receives no financial support from the American Cancer Society and relies on fundraisers, donations and grants to continue to help cancer patients.
“We provide mileage reimbursements for treatments, prescriptions assistance, co-pay assistance, support groups, wigs and medical supplies,” Board Member Cynthia Smoak told Patch.
