In addition to the food, the more than 450 volunteers offer compassion, care and gestures of friendships to program recipients. Meals on Wheels relies heavily on these volunteers to ensure our recipients get their meals each day. The organization is continually seeking new and additional volunteers to help.

“During tough economic times, we need to be good neighbors,” said County Councilman Ken Waters. “Meals on Wheels Anderson is such a valuable resource in our community and by making a donation of food items or money, we can truly make a difference in someone’s life. I encourage everyone to participate. If you don’t have time to shop, run by one of our libraries or Meals on Wheels and drop off a check to support the good work they do. As an added incentive, I pledged to do 100 pushups during a Council Meeting if we can collect 100,000 lbs. of items.”
